Greetings!
My name is Jenny Le and I’m a volunteer at Avenue Eyecare. I’ve been volunteering for Dr. Sherman Tung and Dr. Jessica Chang for 2 years now. I am currently entering the third year of my undergraduate degree in Science with a major in Biology at the University of British Columbia and I’m also the president of the UBC Pre-Optometry Club. I began thinking about optometry as a profession since the 7th grade when we had to write in our yearbook what we wanted to be when we grew up. At the time I chose optometry simply because I had glasses; today I choose to pursue optometry because i want to help people. I’ve struggled with my eye sight since I was 6, so helping others with eye related conditions is very close to my heart. The eyes are so important but often overlooked. I want to raise awareness about how important it is to have your eyes checked regularly and how we can prevent complications in the future. Hope to see you at the clinic!
