Our team at Avenue Eyecare is excited to introduce the new Stellest 2.0 lenses by Essilor for myopia management. After years of success with the original Stellest lens, this next generation lens brings enhanced technology and stronger clinical results in managing myopia in children.
What makes Stellest 2.0 different?
This lens is powered by H.A.L.T. MAX technology and gives our patients 2X the depth of volume of non-focused light compared to their first generation lens. This is accomplished by increasing both the asphericity and power of the lenslets. This enhanced treatment design helps better managed myopia. The Stellest 2.0 lens has an additional ring of lenslets (12 instead of 11) and comes in a larger size to fit a wider range of frames.
Their one year study of 50 nearsighted children aged 6-10 years old showed that Stellest 2.0 resulted in superior myopia management outcomes. The study revealed a dose-response relationship with better slowing of myopia progression and axial length growth with the higher asphericity and power of the lenslets.
At Avenue Eyecare, myopia management is a core focus of our pediatric eyecare services. With the addition of Stellest 2.0, we’re excited to be able to add this enhanced myopia control spectacle lens technology to our many myopia management options.
